Louise Howard Durham

SAVANNAH - Louise Anne Howard Durham, 57, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at home in the company of her family. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dr. Bradford Alan Durham, her two children Jessica Katherine and Christopher Blake, and her three brothers Dr. Armstrong Jolly Howard IV, Dr. Robert Moberg Howard, and Richard Huntley Howard.

Born in Darlington, SC on June 28, 1956 to Armstrong Jolly Howard III and Eleanore Moberg Howard, Louise attended Columbia College and graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She and Bradford Alan were married on August 26, 1978 at Darlington Presbyterian Church. They lived in Charleston, SC while Bradford attended dental school at MUSC and then moved to Savannah in 1982. Louise was a loving wife and mother.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 2:00 PM at Grace Church of the Islands, 6901 Concord Rd, Savannah, followed by a graveside service in Bonaventure Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 4 - 8 PM at their home at 1028 Wilmington Island Rd, Savannah, Georgia.

Louise was a charter member of Grace Church of the Islands where she taught Sunday School, founded the library, and was instrumental in the life of the church. She was also a board member and supporter of the Habersham School. She will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she touched with her sweet smile and quiet manner.

1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

For those who desire, memorials can be made in her memory to the Habersham School, 505 E 54th Street, Savannah, and Grace Church of the Islands.
